Kingdom of Heaven

just watched Kingdom of Heaven with dad. Call me outdated.

I am now truly convinced that Orlando Bloom is hot. and nothing else but. Gosh, he can't really act anyway. *pretty boy.

Anyway, it was so... gory. That's what I hate about these medieval scenes, they have wars and they plunge their swords into each other and.....the blood....Not to mention the heads. as in....without bodies. and they dragged the headless body away....leaving this sickening trail of blood....

(I cried at Star Wars : Revenge of the Sith for exactly the same reason. Everyone dying. So heart-wrenching, but at least they used light-sabers. Not as bloody and gruesome as this.)

I don't mind fire so much... or even those great catapults throwing flaming rocks at each other, that's ok. But eeek, they just rush into each other and kill everyone in sight and what's more, they do it "for God!!"

"Jesus will protect his people!"

"God will keep us safe!"

"It is as God wills."

it's like today's jihad!

And the poor men....dead bodies strewn all over the ground. literally.
I can't stand it when they just plunge the sword into someone's body with all the...blood and...stuff... and they make the sign of the cross and say "it is as God wills. I shall pray for him."

the poor guy writhing on the ground. aaaAAAhhh. i can feel the pain in my own abdomen.

Nowadays we critisize the Muslim terrorists for believing in jihad, that when they kill people for God, God is pleased, therefore justifying the "holy war". We say that they're ignorant to act this way. Or not so much ignorant as cruel or greedy, perhaps.

I was amazed to find that, in the 12th century, it was the Christians who believed that war and bloodshed for God was right! Furthermore, it was "the way to heaven!" Killing people!

Salahuddin (pronounced Salahh-deen), the Muslim king (a historical figure) is now known for his mercy. He didn't march into Jerusalem and massacre all the Christians. Instead, he let every soul go free : the women, children, the old, and the knights. Provided, of course, he got to march into Jerusalem in the first place.

I am impressed. He was nice. :)

Quote of the Day :
"Killing an infidel is not a sin! It is the way to heaven!"
